Perfect for packed lunches, snack boards, or even no-cook dinners, these sandwich sticks offer variety, balance, and a hands-on approach to lunchtime that kids love. Bonus: no sandwich cutting required!
Yield: 2 skewers
Total time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
4 thin deli turkey slices (or ham, or other lunch meat)
4 cheddar cheese slices (or cheese of your choice)
4 cherry tomatoes (or 4 tomato slices)
2 pieces whole grain bread, cut into 4 1-inch squares (optional: remove crust)
Flat bamboo skewers, wooden coffee sticks, or reusable kid-safe silicone skewers

Directions:
Starting with a piece of bread, thread on a slice of turkey (it works best if you fold the deli turkey in half and then in half again), followed by a slice of cheese, then a cherry tomato.
Repeat the layers if your skewer is long enough. (Optional: finish with a piece of bread on top for a balanced look)

For extra flavor, you can spread a thin layer of mustard, hummus, or cream cheese on the bread pieces before skewering.

Recipe Notes:
Swap ingredients or add extras like cucumber slices, bell peppers, or olives to suit your child’s taste.
Serve with a favorite dip on the side, like ranch dressing, hummus, or yogurt-based dips for extra fun!
